There is always a craft from recycled items made in or out of school around Earth Day. Can't think of what to make? Here's a classic idea of a Milk Carton Piggy Bank.
Items Needed:
Empty Milk Jug (Gallon)The curled tail is my favorite part! |
Pink Paint & Markers
Paint Brush
White Paper
Black Marker
Pink Pipecleaner
Toilet Paper Rolls (2)
Glue (Hot Glue works best)
Scissors
Directions: To begin, wash your milk carton and dry it well. Then paint the outside of the carton pink as well as the 2 toilet paper rolls.Allow these time to dry. Now take the cap to the milk and cut a circle to cover its face from the white paper. Once that is cut to size, color it with the pink marker completely. Then use the black marker to draw 2 thin ovals lengthwise on the pink cap. Glue that to the cap. This will resemble the pigs snout. Next, use the same white paper and cut out 2 circles a bit smaller to resemble eyes. Use the black marker to draw a circle within each white circle to complete the eyes. Use the white paper one last time to create ears. Cut them a bit like rounded off triangles. Then you can color them pink with the marker. Now take the dried milk carton and turn it so the handle is facing upwards. Glue the eyes on to either side of the handle. Then glue the ears over them, where the carton begins to curve upwards. Cut the toilet rolls in half so you have 4 pieces. Glue them to the bottom of the carton to act as feet. Finally curl the pink pipe cleaner and glue that to the end opposite of the cap. Now you have a craft from recyclable items.
